Virgin Active Mayfair is a long-established central London club that has evolved alongside Virgin Active’s growth since the brand’s launch in 1999. Originally a traditional premium health club, it was comprehensively redeveloped in 2018–2019 into a boutique-style wellness destination, with upgraded studios, gym, pool and spa facilities, and has continued to be refined as a flagship Mayfair location focused on high-end fitness and wellbeing.

Recent improvements at Virgin Active Mayfair include a comprehensive transformation into a boutique-style wellness club, with upgraded gym and studio spaces, enhanced strength and conditioning zones, and the introduction of specialist class concepts such as Reformer Pilates, Barre, Punch and HIIT-based training. The club has also invested in improved recovery and spa facilities, refreshed interiors and branding, and refined member amenities, reinforcing its position as a premium fitness destination in central London.
PROJECT: Gym Floor Refurbishment 2025
Red Dot Architectural Design Ltd will attend site to deliver a phased gym floor refresh, designed to modernise key training areas while maintaining ongoing club operations throughout the works. The scope included Phase 1 works to the High Energy Studio, involving soft strip-out, installation of new wall cladding, flooring, lighting, AV systems, redecoration and updated branding to create the new Grid Studio. Phase 2 covers the formation of a new Free Weights Area within the existing Strength & Conditioning space, including soft strip-out, new flooring, lighting upgrades, redecoration and installation of new equipment. Phase 3 comprises the creation of a new PT Zone within the former free weights area and enhancements to the Cardio Area, incorporating new flooring, floor grommets, lighting upgrades and redecoration. Across all phases, new signage will be installed to reflect the updated branding and revised gym layout.
