Theatre Royal Brighton

This project will deliver a new L1-standard fire detection and alarm system, providing the highest level of life safety protection across the venue. The upgraded system will ensure comprehensive detection coverage, significantly enhancing compliance, resilience, and occupant safety throughout the building.

The works include the full removal of the existing fire alarm system and the installation of new detection devices, containment, cabling, and associated infrastructure. In addition, a VESDA air sampling system, Public Address Voice Alarm (PAVA), and pager system will be installed to further strengthen early warning and emergency communication capabilities. The project is being delivered following a full asbestos survey and clearance, with design proposals reviewed and approved by an M&E consultant. Barlows have been appointed as the main contractor to deliver the works to the required technical and safety standards.

 

CN Projects provide client-side project oversight and CDM support, ensuring the works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to best practice standards. Their role includes regular H&S site inspections, formal reporting and action tracking, management of the Health & Safety File, and CDM advisory support to identify and mitigate design and construction risks. CN Projects also coordinate closely with the Principal Contractor and consultants to maintain strong governance, compliance, and assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
